This is some fast-paced Thrash from Detroit. I was expecting to like this more – let's face it, the album name and cover art have that old Sodom style. This is not bad at all, but I never felt like my ass was being kicked, which I would expect from an album of the genre. I'm reminded a bit of Toxic Holocaust (vocals mostly), but this is really fast-paced raw Thrash. The production holds this back a little – I can't help but feel that there's something sharper that should be coming out of the speakers. The album is overall a bit bland – I couldn't find even one song that stuck out, no "fuck yeah!" moment, even though this is quite listenable. Bottom line, if fast, "non-pretty" Thrash with barely decipherable and fast vocals is your thing, you'll most likely find something to like here. Personally I'm hoping for something that leaves more of a lasting impression for their next album. |
