So many times when BM bands try to get atmospheric they forget that they are supposed to be metal bands, but thankfully, Skaur remember that this is supposed to be about metal. This has a bare-bones production, but is not what you would call 'raw'. This disc is built on big tremolo riffs and a ton of atmosphere that arises out of songwriting, not any sort of gimmick. Vocals are an expected raw gargle, but here and there some clean vocals pop up which are of a surprisingly high quality. This is not depressive or gloomy, but rather a strong debut disc of Pagan Black Metal.
