Review

I've been listening to Desert Sin's Destination Paradise album quite a bit over the last couple of weeks and I can say two things with confidence: it is smooth, slick and well played and it is not much different from a hundred other Power Metal albums you've heard before. Honestly, it is hard to think of anything good or bad to say about Destination Paradise. It is a good listen while it is on, but the songs are just not catchy enough to stick in your head when the album ends. The band members put on some good performances but the songwriting is flat. The only truly memorable thing is that the song "Hero" has a riff that reminds me of the 1988 debut album from Kingdom Come.

I can't recommend running out and buying Destination Paradise nor can I say don't buy it if you happen to be a Power Metal fanatic. Who knows? You may hear something that eluded me, but you should set your expectations appropriately.
