This EP has a good sound, with the proper mix of power and rawness in the recording and a lot of barbaric riffing that avoids the clichés of tremolo abuse. I wish the songwriting was really standout, but it's pretty pedestrian. Vocals might lift this above the ordinary, but instead we get a mushy shriek that just sounds like the guy is going "Yaa Yaaa Yaaaaaaaaaa!" all the time. This has flashes of talent, but is so derivative and generally bland it's impossible to get excited about it. |
