This is a somewhat entertaining mix of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock with an occasional Southern Rock vibe. A lot of this stuff is catchy and a bit old school, and the "raw-and-dirty" rock vibe is omnipresent. The vocals are often a bit too melodic and clash with the music, but when the vocalist uses a deeper, grittier voice, then that's when this really shines. What I don't like about this is how so many songs start off sounding quite promising, only to lose steam halfway through. That makes the album very uneven (or "even in its unevenness" ;)). Too many "mood-breakers" in here. Still, when it's good, it's good. The guys just need to pick a style and stick to it rather than try to do too much at once. |
