This is the second album Greek Melodic Death Metal band Ritual of Odds released in 2010, and as far as I know, they are not the same album. When this started I was startled by how much this sounded like Whoracle-era In Flames, and as it went on I was amazed by how much of the crap In Flames have been sticking us with since then this band also imitates.

When Ritual of Odds stick to actual Melodic Death Metal they sound fine – derivative as hell, but solid. The problem is they cram too many parts into every song, and most of them don't seem to have much to do with each other, just kind of a mishmash. The other, bigger problem is that they go heavily in for syncopated beats and vocals that conjure up an extremely icky nu-metal or even hip-hop feel. Too many of the riffs are not melodic at all, but just groove with no interest or hooks at all. They even do the 'chugga-chugga-squeeeeal' thing we all hate about modern aggro and metalcore bands.

If they stuck to actual metal, this band would be essentially an In Flames clone, but a decent one. As it is they seem far too interested in non-metal sounds, awful groove riffing, hip-hop beats, and nu-metal stigmata to be worth anyone's time.
