Greece's Erevos plays straightforward second wave Black Metal on their debut album Descensus Ad Inferos. Raspy vocals and a good mix of Thrash riffs and tremolo picking keep the album from getting too stale. The songs are well played and fans of this style will find nothing to complain about in that respect. There are no killer tracks, though some interesting melodies crop up here and there. Mainly, Descensus Ad Inferos is your typical Black Metal album, not much different from the glut of albums out there. It is by no means an essential purchase, but if your tastes run this way, you'll get some mileage from Descensus Ad Inferos. |
