Italy's Black Propaganda are a riff-oriented Thrash band and on their debut, self-titled album, pay homage to late 80s Sepultura and the bands they inspired. The vocals are a hoarse shout over guitars that alternate between speedy, staccato riffs and slower grooves. The songs are well played and the sound is good but there's nothing on the album that hasn't been done hundreds of times before. Black Propaganda may be just a face in the Death/Thrash Metal crowd but they will still bruise the eardrums of anyone who checks them out. |
