I'm sure these guys were thinking "Manowar" when they picked this name, but maybe they should have considered what would happen when people Google that. It is a silly name, and it makes them sound silly right off the bat. Now if they were an awesome band I would overlook all of it, but they are strictly mediocre. This is not bad, exactly, but it does nothing to really excite me. The riffs are standard, the guitar sound is weak, and the vocals are strictly adequate. This guy is supposed to be a vocal coach, but his singing in uninspired and lacking in any kind of tonal variation. When he goes for a money note it sometimes definitively off-key, and the vocal melodies are not very exciting. If this had a brick-heavy production job and some better vocals, well. . . it would still be pretty dull, as the compositions are not very tight or interesting, but at least it would sound like the band was excited about what they were doing. As it is, this band is just kind of embarrassing. |
