This is an EP from unsigned Polish band Clairvoyant. Poland is not known as a real hotbed of melodic bands in general, so I was interested to see what this band was about. Overall, this band goes for a kind of Running Wild sound, with catchy riffs and rugged vocals. The singer has a lot of enthusiasm, but he's not the most polished singer on Earth by any stretch. This is very stripped-down metal, and on first spin I was not sure I liked it, but it grew on me, and I find myself really enjoying the hooky guitar work and tasty leads. This is pretty derivative, but it's fun anyway. |
