I was quite impressed by the band’s "Behind the Mourner’s Veil" MCD, and this album released in 1997 is no deception either - not one weak song. The album opens up on a spoken passage that seems to be coming straight from a zombie horror movie and sets the mood for what’s coming for the next 68 minutes. Destructive heavy/thrash metal inheriting from the 80s but with a little 90s touch sound-wise is a short description of the music on Fearless Undead Machines. The material here should please a good number of people, from those who like fast thrash attacks to those who like their stuff heavy and fast but with melodies - F.U.M. is an excellent mix of both. The vocals are a bit on the extreme side but without going into growls or anything like that - take usual Thrash vocals and give a faster, "horrific", or even "scared" edge to them and that’s pretty much what you get here. Hard to put into words really, but the vocals are very fitting to the horror theme of the album. I really like the way the songs are written, as the music and the vocals/lyrics seem to have been written with each other in mind, rather than just adding the lyrics as an afterthought. Maybe I’m seeing a bit too much into this, but it sure sounds like that’s what was done here.

Highly recommended. Now it looks to me like I’ll have to acquire all of this band’s catalog...
