This gets billed as Power/Folk Metal, but really it is just a more hyper strain of the epic Heavy Metal that is kind of inescapable in Greece. This is obviously very DIY, and this is a one-man-band (though there may have been others involved in the recording, I can't tell), so the recording is a bit rough and the vocals are a bit iffy. Regardless, this is far from essential but it is a lot of fun. The riffing is energetic and the compositions are ambitious. Lyrical content is over the top and silly, with more typical Conan/Achilles/Thor themes sharing space with songs about He-Man and Castle Grayskull. No, really. This is not some ageless classic by a long shot, but it is a fun disc. |
