Witchburner have been around a long time, with a career that stretches back to 1992 and encompasses 7 full-length albums. This is almost a whole new band, however, as this album features a brand new lead guitarist and vocalist, and not one original member of the band still remains. Witchburner have remained under the radar for a long time, so for a lot of people this is like a debut.

If you love 80s Thrash in all its crunchy glory, then this is an album you will love. Witchburner are staunchly in the vein of old-school acts like Sodom or Exodus, kind of straddling the line between Bay Area chugging and German viciousness. These riffs are all pure San Fran-scene pummeling, while the vocals are very Angelripper in style. I can easily make comparisons to mid-period Sodom like Agent Orange as well as classic Exodus like Pleasures of the Flesh. My one beef is that this is too often mid-paced, rather than balls-rippingly fast. But when Witchburner crank it up, there is testicle-rippage aplenty. This is a blast for Thrash fans who miss the good old days.
