The debut release from Bulgarian rockers Impade generally sounds like a gang of youths who've put together their first set of songs. As a result all the common pitfalls of inexperienced musicians coming together are present here on Hope Denied. From basic power chord riffs, to jarring ideas (one song sounds like a punk song, the other a poor man's Velvet Revolver) this isn't really the kind of release I want to waste my time listening to. Hope Denied isn't completely hopeless though, the opener "Stupid Faith" is enjoyable enough, although for the most part this doesn't really offer anything that any other band couldn't do better. Avoid! |
