This band made a splash with their 2004 album Blackdoor Miracle, but of the lineup that recorded that, only the drummer remains, so this is like a whole different band – a much more generic one, as it turns out. Not that Ragnarok were ever original, they just had a ferocity that overcame their musical limitations and made their stuff compelling. This album is pretty much just a pastiche of more recent Enthroned or Marduk albums with nothing whatsoever to distinguish it from a thousand other modern Black Metal albums. Competent but dull. |
