This is the debut from Old Ritual, an Italian band who play highly orthodox Black Metal with some slight epic styling in the longer compositions. I have to say this band's riffs are often pretty good, and they conjure up some good flailing mayhem when they get into it. The production is rough, but in a good way, and even if their songwriting is a bit unfocused, they crank up the energy and keep it cranked. If you favor underground BM, then you could do worse.
