I was expecting something more Belphegor or Behemoth from this by the look of it, but instead this is a very melodic album with smooth tremolo riffs and a good amount of atmosphere. It reminds me here and there of stuff like Limbonic Art, only without all the keys, or maybe Averse Sefira's older material. The guitar tone is too weak for my tastes, without enough real bite, and there are a lot of melodeath-styled twin-ax clean riffs mixed into this, which gives it a very accessible sound. Not bad, but nothing about it is really outstanding. |
