This band seems to be trying to bridge the more melodic dash of Gothernburg melodeath with the guttural aggression of more old-school Swedish DM. When they do their low-pitched blasting thing they sound pretty decent, but they keep pausing for more melodic twiddling that just doesn't fit very well and isn't well written. The problem with doing melodic death is that you have to be able to write actual good melodies, and this band doesn't really seem to have a knack for that. When they stick to ripping and bellowing they sound much better, if a lot like a bunch of other bands. Disposable. |
