I have to say the fact that this band once took part in a Dimebag Darrel tribute album is not a mark in its favor, so I was not expecting much out of this. This is the debut album for French Death Metallers Necroverdose, who have spent more than a decade lurking around in the scene before getting this out there. This is actually pretty decent Death Metal with a definite melodic edge. I'd compare this to early Edge of Sanity but without the epic ambition. The riffs are heavy, the vocals are guttural, the drums are thankfully not triggered or overproduced and sound nice and organic. Nothing you have not heard a thousand times, but a perfectly solid album. |
