This is billed as "Gothic", but it's really Doom/Death leavened by some female vocals and a few more up-tempo parts. The problem with this is that there is nothing really remarkable about any of it. The riffs are decent but too repetitive, the recording is solid but not remarkable, and the vocals range from acceptable growls to rather bad clean singing. I can see that this band is trying for their own sound, but they don't seem to have a clear idea of what they want to do. Overall this is rather tedious, with slow songs with little of interest and repetitive songwriting. |
