Simple, straightforward and wickedly mean Death/Thrash from Canada is what you get on Besieged's debut Victims Beyond All Help. There are no keyboards, no attempts to create "atmosphere" and no useless intros, spoken word parts or sound effects, just throat-rending howls, pounding riffs and million-mile-an-hour drums. All the songs are a little generic but, man, the energy and raw aggression threaten to rip your face off. I admit my tastes in Death/Thrash run towards bands that are a bit less serious (and Besieged are dead serious) like Desaster. That said, Death/Thrash fans will find it worth their while to check out Victims Beyond All Help. |
