Cloning the sound of the mighty Autopsy is a popular thing to do. Some bands fail totally but others are able to come so close to the sound of the masters of gore that one can get confused between which band is which. Greek Death Metal horde Necrovorous has come really close to the trademark sound of Autopsy. Crypt of the Unembalmed Cadavers, which is actually a collection of the band's old material with three extra live tracks, brings all this Autopsy worship to the next level. At times, they sound more like Autopsy than Autopsy does these days, something they can take as a compliment from me, being the huge Autopsy fan that I am. Necrovorous sound pleasantly filthy, sick, demented, rotten, heavy and dirty as fuck on this 14-track compilation record. They do the Autopsy thing so well I don't even mind if they get the "just another Autopsy copy" stamp on their backs. As long as you do something people enjoy, by all means do it. Nothing should stop you from doing what you are good at; fuck the critics! This is definitely not the kind of stuff for pussies and sissies. |
