According to Metal Archives, this Romanian Black Metal band released an album, Angels of Meth, back in 2006 that, for mysterious reasons, is extremely rare due to a dispute with their former label. Apparently then, Power Frost, the band's 2013 7" single put out by Magic Bullet Records, is likely the only thing you're going to hear from them at this time. That's probably just as well as the two songs on Power Frost don't exactly fill me with the desire to find anything else by Persekutor. Simple, generic Black Metal tremolo picking alternating with Doom riffing, decipherable low rasps and a muddy rhythm section represent the sum total of what you can expect from Power Frost. The playing is competent but unexciting, atmosphere, despite the title and artwork, is non-existent and its all of six minutes duration. It isn't awful so chase it, if you must, but don't expect any great revelations. |
