In Italy, they know how to play thrash that goes straight for our hearts and, as an example, we have this Thrash bunch, Demolition Saint. Demolition Saint put out their debut 4-song EP, Ignorance Is the Law, on the small label Wine Blood Records in 2013 and, even if there's nothing really new in the band's old school Thrash Metal approach, they play their mostly American-tinged Thrash Metal (Atrophy and/or Acrophet anyone?) very well, with mandatory gang shouts playing a vital part of their sound. The guys in Demolition Saint may not have the sharpest songwriting pencils but they have a fair idea of what a decent song structure is and how to match crispy and ripping Thrash riffs with melody lines that support the song without letting it spin off into oblivion. 4 songs of well-made old school 80s-flavored Thrash Metal is what you are about to get on Ignorance Is the Law. If that sounds cool to you (it does to me), then check out Demolition Saint. |
