First, while these are based on tracks Entrails worked up in the mid-90s, the actual demos are from 2009. Second, nearly all of these tracks appear on the band's 2010 album, Tales from the Morgue, with another showing up on 2011's The Tomb Awaits, and they really don't sound much different. In other words, Resurrected from the Grave seems like a rather pointless release. However, this is still Entrails, and Entrails kicks ass, so there's that. There's also the fact that Tales from the Morgue isn't so easy to come by anymore, so that also adds some worth, as does the doomed-out track, "Depression". All in all, if you don't have the band's debut, or are just looking for some fun and catchy, old-school Swedish Death Metal, you could do a lot worse. (Note: this is easily a 4.5 for the songs, but a point less for redundancy). |
