I rarely hear of Metal bands coming from countries like Jordan. Then again, Metal music is a global thing and Metal bands can pop up from every possible corner of this (dying) planet. Enter Exile, a 3-piece Thrash Metal band whose debut album, Suspended Society... Mutilated Variety, released in 2012, is unadulterated, heavy and beautifully violent music that reeks of old school Thrash Metal. Combine early Kreator and early Slayer with Dark Angel, and you will get an idea of what this Jordanian Thrash bunch sounds like. Believe me when I tell you they sound fucking great! If someone told me Suspended Society...Mutilated Variety was recorded back in the eighties and left unreleased for one reason or another until some 30 years later, I'd buy it as a fact without a doubt. This sounds way more old school than today's retro Thrash Metal and even the album's production values support this wholeheartedly. There's not much left to be said about this record really. 80s-tinged, ripping old school Thrash Metal done with attitude, that's all you need to make it sound kick ass. Exile has made this recipe work for them in a nice way. Highly recommended. |
