German thrashers Gumo Maniacs have been keeping their uncompromising Thrash Metal train rolling since January 2007. Priest of Lucifer (2008) and Psychomania (2010) gave Gumo Maniacs a reputation as a Thrash Metal band with a load of potential in underground circles in Germany and elsewhere.

Out of Disorder is the title of Gumo Maniacs' latest opus, and while it also relies on old school values, it finds the band spreading its musical wings a bit wider this time. If the band's two previous albums were a straightforward and faster type of Thrash, Out of Disorder cuts some of the speed and brutality and adds more of a variety of musical moods and tempos. It's all good and brings in a breath of fresh air that pushes Gumo Maniacs toward the next level of creativity. As for influences, the gentlemen in Gumo Maniacs undoubtedly know Slayer. Daniel's and Michael's guitar work is thoroughly good and underscores the fact that Slayer isn't completely unknown to them (listen to the title track, "Out of Disorder," for proof).

A song like "John Rambo" gives good evidence for these German lads' sense of humor, something that is, more often than not, good thing in Thrash Metal. Gumo Maniacs are pretty darn entertaining, having now recorded three studio albums that are equally as good as any recent albums from some of the so-called "big" names in German Thrash (Tankard, Sodom, Destruction, etc.). Gumo Maniacs deserve more attention so let's give some to them by buying their albums, alright folks?
