Debut EP for French newcomers Incipient Chaos, who seem to be part of the resurgence the French Black Metal scene is seeing lately. This is very influenced by the second wave of Black Metal from the 90s, with riff-based songwriting and a cold atmosphere. This has a nice heavy production, solid chops, and doesn't overstay its welcome. If I have a complaint about this band, it's that they don't do any one thing particularly well. This is solid, but does nothing to rise above the pack. |
