Third album of atmospheric Black Metal from this Italian band. This is often the kind of thing we expect to get from solo projects, but this apparently a real band. Don't worry that this will be ambient or anything, as it is mostly as hard as anything you will hear, save for some acoustic interludes and a general mood of gloominess and a feel that shades into Cascadian Black Metal without quite nudging over the line. This is an album of long songs that builds a lot of mood and emotion, while maybe not paying it off as well as it could. It is just a bit too compositionally loose to be really gripping, but if you like this kind of thing, it will hit the spot. |
