Donetsk, Ukraine is the home of melodic Death Metal quintet Red Hills. Well, hopefully the guys still have homes there and they aren't completely destroyed.

Back to Red Hills. The band's debut album, Pleasure of Destruction (an ironic album title, eh?), was released on Total Metal Records, one of the sub-labels of Metal Scrap Records, in 2014. The Red Hills troops sound ready to go out and spread their musical havoc around the globe. They are well rehearsed and ready to take on the world with their melodic yet aggressive, Children of Bodom-type Metal that is wrapped up with some Gothenburg vibes here and there. A sense for striking melodies is certainly one of the band's best assets; they know the importance of catchy melody lines and use them well in their song structures. Red Hills keep the tempo constantly high, never really slowing down but pushing onward like an uncontrolled bulldozer. They nail down all eight songs in less than 26 minutes. That's an optimal length for this type of aggressive yet very melodic stuff.

Red Hills are yet another young and promising Metal act from Eastern Europe. Hopefully Pleasure of Destruction will get a follow-up someday, as well.
