Mr. Jacko and Mr. Hitch form the Mexican Death Metal act called Zombiefication. This is very old school, early 90's Swedish-sounding Death Metal but the duo gives the songs a more experimental twist and doesn't take the path of least resistance when creating their music. Procession Through Infestation, Zombiefication's third studio album since 2010, is a distorted, raw and brutal package of old school finesse that leans heavily on the purest traditions of heavy and down-tuned "Sweden-ized" Death Metal, in which experimentation is allowed and dark atmospheres let the songs breathe better. In that sense, Zombiefication have done a respectable job of not sounding generic or unoriginal as so many of their extreme Metal comrades tend to do these days. Zombiefication differ from the grey and faceless mass by experimenting a little bit here and there, counting on unorthodox solutions in their songs structures. At other times they simply let thick and poisonous smoke billow out from their angry machine, intent on crushing everyone. If I did not say it loud and clear yet Zombiefiecation rule...and that's about it. |
