Repulsor are a Polish band who are dedicated to ripping out Thrash like it was still 1989. I am often suspicious of the new wave of Thrash bands, because it seems like some of them just don't get it. In Thrash, the guitars carry the speed, not the drums. But Repulsor get it, and their riff-packed Thrash attack is a welcome taste of the classic era. The band keeps the guitars up front, the amps turned up loud, and the riffs front and center. Razor-keen thrash riffs rip and tear off this thing, spilling all over each other, and they all manage to sound classic without ripping anybody off. Vocals are a true Thrash style - not really harsh, not really clean either. This EP is just a face-ripping ride through fast, pummelling retro Thrash that gets it right. A band to watch. |
