Thrash Metal with a near-hysteric Punk and Crossover influences is something that makes me go crazy when it is done well. The more songs, and the shorter they are, the better. Enter Austrian metallic Crossover maniacs Insanity Alert and their 15-track self-titled debut album, which fits into that above category perfectly. This foursome has been around just about three years and released one demo and one EP prior to this debut album. Insanity Alert throws the listener back to the 80's when bands like Ludichrist, Crumbsuckers, Death Angel, Suicidal Tendencies, D.R.I., Vio-lence and others ruled the lands from the USA to Europe to any other place you can think of. Insanity Alert offer an old school, aggressive-sounding mix of Crossover and Thrash that it simply cannot be ignored. The music oozes gallons of sweat, angst and rebellious "fuck-you-all" attitude that is so very vital for this genre. They are simply fun to listen to. This is what I call good, friendly, violent fun. Grab a couple of beers, turn on this disc and enjoy your Friday night to the fullest! |
