As most of you may already know, Barbatos is a side project of Yasuyuki Suzuki from Abigail. As we also know, Yasuyuki likes girls; lots and lots of them. The more half-naked, the better. As far as Barbatos's music goes, it's filthy, dirty, sex-driven Punk/Black/Thrash Metal like a mix of Venom, Motörhead, Impaled Nazarene and Sodom. Rocking Metal Motherfucker, Barbatos' second album (originally released by From Beyond Productions in 2003) has now been reissued by China's AreaDeath Productions with several bonus tracks. If dirty, hell-raising Rock n' Roll is the kind of sound that appeals you then by all means sink your teeth into this. Barbatos is entertaining but in all honesty I would take any of the aforementioned acts over them if I really wanted a dose of that kind of music. Still, Barbatos rocks pretty hard on this release and the cover of Vulpecula's "The First Point of Aries", with Chuck Keller's exclusive solo, is well done. All the live bonus stuff sounds shitty so don't expect much or you'll be disappointed. For die-hard Barbatos/Abigail fans this is worth collecting. For the rest, you can probably live without. |
