Doom. We all love to get doomed from time to time especially with some easily digested Doom Metal stuff, right?
Spanish doomsters Misty Grey are led by female vocalist Bea and they do Doom Metal right. The Third Man is a compilation of the band's 2-track digital EP, the Demon demo and one extra live track ("Touch of Evil") and this stuff hearkens back to the time of bands like Pentagram and Black Sabbath in a very authentic way. They are like an amalgam of those two acts really, reeking of a pure 70's vibe and feeling, which is something to be cherished, of course.
Having said that, the problem for Misty Grey may be they have to bear a cross for being something of a clone of both Pentagram and Black Sabbath due to their similarity to those legendary Doom Metal giants. Then again, there's never enough of this type of early 70's Doom Metal around these days, so much full of emotion, warmness and captivating atmosphere. Vocalist Bea is also an exception as a female voice in Doom Metal, which is still rare. I cannot help but welcome this Spanish Doom foursome with wide-open arms. Let's all get doomed a little bit, for old times' sake.
