The relatively young guns in the Dutch Death/Thrash Metal patrol Insurrection have released their debut 6-track EP, Catatonic, and it is a promising signpost on the map of Dutch Metal. Insurrection have drawn influences from both Death and Thrash Metal and have the songwriting skills to garner them all kinds of positive attention. Their song structures are complex with multiple layers and at times are somewhat unorthodox. Bassist Pieter Oevering and guitarist Martin Hutten share the shrieking, growling and screaming vocals and the interaction works well. The playing is tight and on a professional level which points to a bright future for Insurrection. Need some band comparisons? You get none this time. Go and find this promising Dutch Death/Thrash Metal outfit on the Internet and give them a fair listen, okay? |
