Bestial Deform from Saint-Petersburg, Russia, is one of the most important Russian underground Death Metal bands ever. Bestial Deform's second album, Bellum Contra Omnes, originally released in 1996 on cassette only, has been a very hard if not impossible item to find. Now, 18 years after its original release it is being made available again via a joint release between Satanath Records and More Hate Productions.
This fully remastered version of Bellum Contra Omnes delivers pure old school, technical Death Metal in an excellent way. Bestial Deform's unorthodox and structurally complicated songs are all great to listen to. Considering it was recorded in 1996 it's also great to hear how they did things their own way with little care for the musical trends that were spiraling around back in those days. In technicality, I would compare Bestial Deform to Finland's Phelegethon though I would also include Sweden's answer to Death, Leprosy and Finland's Mordicus when it comes to the extreme and brutal moments. The production is vintage 90's so unfortunately the drums lack power. There are no other major flaws on this kick ass album.
What's most important is that Bellum Contra Omnes is available again. Get this now while you can. If you don't purchase this Russian Death Metal gem right away you may regret it because it is limited to only 500 copies.
