This is a first demo for Finnish band Enlightenment Near Death, who seem to just want to go by END. The style of music here is a kind of mush, with more Trad Metal riffing, keyboards layered on, and a sneery vocal style that reminds me a bit of Dave Mustaine. Overall it's not very exciting. The riffs are okay, and the songs at least hang together and have some momentum, but the songs just kind of repeat, without any build or resolution, and the vocals are just annoying, bleating all over the songs and not creating any kind of drama or feel besides a desire for them to knock it off. There's nothing offensive about this, but this band does not really do anything especially well. |
