New "retro" Thrash acts seem to be popping up everywhere nowadays like mushrooms (or "moshrooms") after an acid rain. In mid 2010 the 5-piece Thrash unit named Black Talon was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, intent on creating uncompromising Thrash Metal that would cause severe neck injuries for metalheads around the world. If you are not careful that's exactly what will happen when listening to Black Talon's absolutely frenzied, crispy, aggressive Thrash feast on their debut album, Endless Realities. These Scottish thrashers give you a convincing lesson in Thrash which not only hearkens back to the heyday of Bay Area Thrash Metal but also has a fresh twist. It basically offers the best of the old school and retro Thrash all in one package. Names like Vio-lence, Forbidden and Exodus may cross your mind but don't be surprised because Black Talon isn't here to re-invent the wheel just to keep its nasty looking spikes rolling mercilessly over you. These lads know how to thrash. Endless Realities is undoubtedly one of the biggest Thrash Metal surprises of the year thus far. Now let loose and thrash until it hurts! It's all worth it, believe me... \m/ |
