With a name like Whores, Booze & Black Metal, I was expecting this album to be some kind of "Black 'n' Roll", but this is really some barebones, somewhat lo-fi Black Metal, although it does have a bit of a rock-ish vibe – but just barely. This is sung in Czech (the band includes Petr "Blackie" Hošek of the Czech band Root), so not much to understand in terms of lyrics though the vocals are relatively clean – as far as the genre goes anyway. It's raw, it's fast, it's not pretty, but it does get the foot tapping and the head banging. Ultimately this is OK while it's on, but there isn't much to remember once it's over. |
