I thought Evil Army's I, Commander single sounded a bit German in its approach to Thrash but I feel like their latest EP, Violence and War, has taken that fast, loose and angry sound and tightened it into a balled fist of rage similar to bands like Sacred Reich and S.O.D. Most of it is fast though there are some slower spots, similar to what you might hear on Surf Nicaragua. The military overtones ("Army of Doom" "The Assault" "Violence and War") and the Hardcore leanings solidify the S.O.D. comparisons. There's nothing here you haven't heard before but if you're looking for a soundtrack to throw your fists around the pit to, you could do worse. |
