Being in existence for 15 years, and having released five full-length albums during that time, is quite an achievement in itself, I think. That's Turbocharged from Sweden, a band that has grown old tightly together while churning out some sort of extreme, grinding Death Metal, in which Crust also lives in a harmonious symbiosis, so to speak. Turbocharged's latest album, Militant, also counts heavily on their mixture of Death Metal, Crust and even Grindcore that all together forms a special sound for them. They have got the heaviness of Entombed, the filthiness of bands like Venom and Usurper, the right Rock 'n' Roll attitude of Motörhead, and the uncompromising extremity of Rotten Sound, with a rougher, more punk-ish mentality. With these elements the Turbocharged train is kind of unstoppable-sounding. It pushes through ruthlessly, just leaving death and devastation behind (metaphorically speaking of course), while managing to put wide grins on most of our faces for sounding pretty darn good. Roughly said, Turbocharged sound exactly like a band that is neither ready for any compromises, nor that they give a slightest fuck if you like them or not. They sound like a badass group; pretty extreme yet entertaining as fuck, eating sissies for breakfast. Dare to invite them to your home? |
