Ice War is a Canadian band unashamedly going for an early NWOBHM sound on their Battle Zone single released by Iron Bonehead Productions. The songs are in the simple, galloping style of Iron Maiden's first two albums with raw, unpolished vocals akin to Maiden's Di'Anno or Witch Cross' Alex Nyborg Madsen. There isn't anything on these two songs the NWOBHM aficionado hasn't heard before and they aren't even particularly great examples of the style, but I've heard worse. If you live and breathe early Maiden, Angel Witch, Witchfinder General, Tokyo Blade, Witch Cross and the like, Battle Zone will probably has a place in your collection.
