Can't say I expected anything good from the band name, and I was sadly right to trust my gut. Overdoze provide us with a collection of groovy Thrash Metal spearheaded by coarse, attitude driven, Watto-style vocals, which adorn a pot-luck collection of average to subpar riffs and songs. Certain isolated parts are cool, and the singer could be fun raving over some Black/Thrash or Celtic Frost-style material, but when everything comes together I'm left wanting. You've heard this all before, a ramshackle mix of Thrash Metal tropes utilized in amateur fashion which, outside of the practice room/pub/club, doesn't really cut it. |
