Ben Blutzukker is a German multi-instrumentalist and Analog Blood is his debut EP. Ben has a gravelly, Chris Boltendahl-style voice which suits the mid-to-slow tempos of Analog Blood but his vocal lines are not great, especially on the ode to Jack the Ripper, "From Hell." It sounds like the words to this song were written independently of the music and were forced in with little concern with how they would ultimately sound. The rest of Analog Blood is decent but unremarkable Traditional Metal with a bit of Doom in the mix. A less pretentious Danzig mixed with a slowed down Grave Digger might give you a sense of what Analog Blood has in store, should you run across it. |
