Master Creator is the follow-up to Sinbreed's excellent Shadows record from 2014 and it isn't quite as good as I was hoping. The speed has been dialed back on about half of the tracks, which will work for some but is a detriment to my ears. The double-kicks and hooky choruses this band displayed on Shadows can still be found on songs like "Creation of Reality," "On the Run" and the fantastic title track, but for the most part the rest of Master Creator sounds a lot like the Tornillo-era Accept albums with songwriting that is a notch or two below. The guitar-driven approach, relatively free of keyboards, and dripping-with-attitude, gritty vocals are still Sinbreed's hallmarks and as long as they remain consistent, this band will never be one to write off.
I don't dislike Master Creator, not at all, I was just hoping Sinbreed would build upon the awesomeness of Shadows and sweep me off my feet but after listening I felt more like I was treading water.
