Short and "sweet". Sometimes that's all you need. Cryptic Brood play some raw, basic Doom/Death with low guttural vocals. They favour atmosphere and heaviness over speed and the more doom-y parts sometimes have a bit of a 70s vibe, even showing tiny hints of Black Sabbath influences. They do speed things up here and there though that tends to get a little too basic and chaotic – at least they keep that short and overall it helps add some variety. It's nothing great, but somehow I keep going back to this EP from time to time. |
