These Winds Are Not Hope came to me as Death Metal but in actuality are a post-Metal band whose music on their Yesterday's Ghosts EP just kind of drones on in a feeling sad for itself kind of way. The guitar tone is solid and heavy but the riffs meander around without building any momentum or excitement. The vocal lines sound a bit like While Heaven Wept minus any intensity. The result is dull background music. Nothing to see here.
