This trio comes from Brazil and they play straightforward and brutal Thrash and Death Metal of the most frenzied caliber in the vein Slayer and Sepultura's Beneath the Remains era. Being a trio only, they, of course, have their limitations, but to their credit I must admit that they have still been able to put out lots of power, good ideas and credibility behind the songs on this EP. Rotten Pieces know their Thrash Metal for sure, powered by bassist and vocalist Leo Morales' grunt-ish, perhaps a bit too one-dimensional vocal delivery. It's hard to find any cold and constructive criticism about their brutal Thrash Metal because it seems to appeal – to me at least – on every level. Leo could probably pay attention to his vocal delivery a bit, and consider using some high-pitched screams here and there in the future in order to color their otherwise so pleasingly and harsh sounding Thrash Metal delivery. Regardless of what they do in the future, I believe Rotten Pieces are on their way towards more favorable and successful times. Time will tell, of course... |
