Metal and the Might is Mausoleum Gate's, second two-song, vinyl single release, from Italian label Cruz del Sur Music. Obviously this is a teaser for what is about to come from the Mausoleum Gate ranks later this year (or early next year?).

The title track opens up with an intro, which is a reminiscent of something very familiar... How about the beginning of Ozzy's "Mr. Crowley"? Hmm? Just listen for yourself! Otherwise "Metal and the Might" is a straightforward, occasionally even Hammond-driven Heavy Metal song, relying on some traditions of pure Heavy Metal that set my leather boots easily on fire. A super-fun song to listen to, folks! Up next, on the B-side of this nice little vinyl, we get "Demon Soul", which is a more varied attempt in terms of song structure, an almost heroic-sounding Heavy Metal song (a catchy chorus part, some good melodies thrown in, with some eeriness and mysteriousness even, etc.). This is what Mausoleum Gate are masters at: writing charismatic, 70s-orientated Heavy Metal.

With a pretty small dose of ingredients, some miracles can be done, as that's what can be said has happened with this two-song teaser from these gatekeepers of the ancient Heavy Metal temple.
